Herschel Open Time Cycle-1 Observation Planning Workshop (HSC, Europe)
The Herschel Science Centre (HSC) is organising a Herschel Observation Planning Workshop oriented toward the Open Time Cycle-1 submission. The workshop is set up for those who are interested in submitting an OT1 proposal in the next Open Time call and want to learn more about Herschel observing opportunities and how to prepare and submit a proposal using HSpot and other available observation planning tools.
The two day workshop will include an overview of the Herschel mission with special attention to Herschel operations and how they affect observation planning, instrument presentations with a detailed description of the available observing modes and their use for particular science goals, and practical demonstrations on the use of HSpot. NOTE: For the US community of Herschel users a similar workshop will be held on the same date in Pasadena, California. See also the link in the right-hand menu "Herschel Cycle-1 Open Time Observation Planning Workshop (NHSC, USA)". Please note that in both cases space is limited, and registration will close on Monday, 24 May 2010.
